An all-in-one heat pump water heater is efficient when it delivers the required hot water with a high coefficient of performance (COP), low standby demand and a correctly sized tank. Climate, set temperature, installation and operating mode also affect real-world electricity use, so buyers should compare the complete system rather than one headline number.
The SIDITE SDT-AA1 EU series combines an R290 heat pump, storage tank and controls in one floor-standing unit. It is available in 200L, 270L and 300L models, all rated A+ on the product specification sheet.
Compare COP, ηwh, standardized annual electricity consumption (AEC), tank volume, V40, operating range and standby power. COP is heat output divided by electrical input at a defined test point; it changes with air and water temperatures, airflow, defrost and backup-heater use. The SDT-AA1 figures were tested under EN 16147 at 7°C and 20°C external air temperatures.

The 270L model has the highest listed COP at 20°C, while the 300L model provides the highest V40. The 200L version has the lowest standardized AEC but also the smallest capacity and a different load profile.
No model is universally the most efficient. The right choice meets hot-water demand without excessive storage or frequent backup-heater operation.
COP measures performance at a stated test point; AEC estimates annual use under a defined load profile. A larger model can therefore have a higher COP and higher AEC because it delivers more hot water. Compare COP under identical conditions, AEC under comparable load profiles, and use V40 to confirm usable capacity. Actual use varies by climate, demand, set point and operating mode.
An undersized tank can cause shortages or more backup-heater use during peak demand. An oversized tank may add unnecessary stored volume and standby demand.
V40 indicates mixed water available at 40°C under the test method. The SDT-AA1 values at 7°C are 245L for the 200L model, 330L for the 270L model and 367L for the 300L model.

The SDT-AA1 uses R290 refrigerant with a listed 150g pre-charge. Its refrigerant circuit, tank and controls are integrated into one floor-standing cabinet, simplifying product selection and installation planning.
However, refrigerant alone does not determine electricity use. Heat-exchanger design, compressor operation, controls, airflow and installation quality also influence performance.
COP is lower when the heat source is colder or the required water-temperature lift is greater. This is reflected in the SDT-AA1 data, where COP at 7°C is lower than at 20°C.
The series operates from -7°C to 45°C. It can produce water up to 60°C in heat-pump-only mode and 75°C with the electric heater. For efficient operation, use a practical set point, reserve hybrid heating for faster recovery or higher temperatures, and use vacation mode during extended low-demand periods.
Installation must maintain airflow and service access. The specification lists top air inlet and outlet, a 160 mm duct diameter and 5.6 m³/min airflow. Water and electrical work should follow the installation manual and local regulations.
Confirm that COP includes test conditions, V40 meets peak demand, AEC models use comparable load profiles, the operating range suits the climate, and airflow, backup heating, tank protection and warranty are documented.
A higher COP shows better performance at a specific test point, but tank capacity, V40, climate, standby power and backup-heater operation also affect suitability and electricity use.
There is no universal threshold without test conditions. Compare values measured under the same standard and temperatures. The SDT-AA1 EU range lists COP from 3.85 to 4.05 at 20°C under EN 16147.
Usage depends on demand, climate, inlet temperature, set point and operating mode. The SDT-AA1 standardized AEC values are 810 kWh for 200L, 1,185 kWh for 270L and 1,186 kWh for 300L. They are comparison values, not guaranteed bills.
Yes, with the electric heater. The listed maximum is 60°C in heat-pump-only operation and 75°C with electric assistance.
Match tank capacity and V40 to the draw-off profile, peak demand and available space. The range provides V40 values of 245L, 330L and 367L at 7°C for the 200L, 270L and 300L models.
Efficient all-in-one heat pump water heater selection requires more than comparing COP. Buyers should evaluate COP, ηwh, AEC, V40, tank size, operating range and installation conditions together.
The SIDITE SDT-AA1 EU range offers A+ energy class, R290 refrigerant, 200L to 300L capacities, COP up to 4.05 at 20°C, Wi-Fi control and water temperatures up to 75°C with electric assistance.
